Rosa Parks Elementary School Modernization
San Francisco Unified School District

The campus-wide modernization at this San Francisco elementary school focused mainly on building and site accessibility upgrades as well as fire and life safety improvements. Accessibility improvements encompassed restrooms; stairs; elevators; the addition of a wheelchair lift to the multi-purpose room stage; classroom counters and sinks; drinking fountains; door hardware; and ramps.

During construction, the School District decided to relocate a Japanese Immersion Program to the Rosa Parks Campus. Our firm produced design documents for 2 new classrooms and a library, and obtained State approvals while construction on the first phase was underway. The new plan modifications were ready to proceed without a break in construction. Project by HALR - a joint venture of Hamilton + Aitken Architects with Lemanski Rockwell Architects. Prime Architect - Chad Hamilton.
