Advanced Technology Building
City College of San Francisco
In joint venture with Gensler Architecture, H+A is providing architectural and interior design services for a new $40,000,000 facility to support the Biotechnology Training Program on the Phelan Campus of the City College of San Francisco. The purpose of the classroom/ laboratory building is to provide a state-of-the-art, high-technology learning environment for students and faculty. The goal for this project is LEED Silver or better.
The facility will allow CCSF's School of Science and Mathematics to centralize it's biotechnology programs and enhance collaboration and dialogue between disciplines and departments such as Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Biomanufacturing, Cell Culture, Stem Cell Technology, Medical Technology and Molecular Diagnostics, Microbiology, and Nanotechnology.
H+A and Gensler are working closely with the College and two other design teams to master plan the CCSF west campus extension, which will be comprised of the new Advanced Technology Training Facility, the new Performing Arts Complex, the new Joint-Use Academic Building, and parking. The firms are collaborating to create a unified landscape and campus identity with complimentary architectural language, building massing and positioning, as well as integrated utilities and technologies.
